Chicago Mayor Richard Daley will continue his farewell tour Friday morning, visiting neighborhoods throughout Chicago as his term ends.

On his Neighborhood Appreciation Tour, the mayor will say his goodbyes and thank yous. It is also a way to showcase his accomplishments.

On Friday, Daley will visit Clayton Powell School for a ribbon cutting on a future field house. His first farewell stop was Thursday in the West Loop, an area that has gone from skid row to a thriving area of condos and businesses during his 22 years in office.

The mayor plans to make appearances in all 50 Chicago wards.

"It isn't about bricks and mortars, but it is about people, rebuilding people's lives," Daley said. "That doesn't mean I solved all the problems, but again, you built foundations, and no one can take those foundations apart."

Daley's farewell tour will continue through next month, ending just days before he leaves office May 16.
