The body of George Nellessen, 55, was discovered Thursday morning inside his home.
The person who alerted police also reported seeing the victim's son leaving the scene in a tan Mercury. The car was eventually stopped in East Dundee.
On Sunday, the Cook County State's Attorney charged two 19-year-olds, Matthew Nellessen and Azari Baden, and two 20-year-olds, Armon Braden and Marlon Green.
Investigators say the suspects allegedly killed George Nellessen during a robbery.
The four suspects are set to appear in bond court Monday.
