Oak Park spot let patrons pay what they want on Tax Day

A west suburban restaurant took the prices off its menu Monday night and let customers pay what they thought was fair.

The management of Maya Del Sol in Oak Park wanted to give customers a break on Tax Day. So customers could write in what they thought was appropriate for their meal and pay that amount.

The director of operations said paying taxes is stressful for most people. But this was a way to put the customer back in control.

The promotion applied to everything but drinks.
