A White House official will be in Chicago next week to discuss what the administration is doing about controlling Asian carp.

The Asian carp director from the White House Council on Environmental Quality will hold a public meeting next Thursday.

He will talk about how the government is trying to prevent the invasive fish from establishing itself in the Great Lakes.

The strategy includes building barriers, harvesting the fish, and finding long term biological controls.
