Anneliese Gries, a junior at Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock, has made a prom ball gown from nearly 500 gum wrappers, family friend Maryann Buettner said. Buettner said she also helped make the dress.
Buettner said Anneliese he has never sewn before. They made the dress by combining several patterns. A tie was also made for Anneliese's date, along with a garter and purse.
Anneliese will attend prom Friday.
