Swanson is a Gary native who lives in Texas. He was back in northwest Indiana visiting his mom when he bought his winning ticket at the Meijer store near I-65 and Lincoln Highway in Merrillville.
"I really couldn't believe it until I could see the ticket, and even when I saw the ticket, I actually don't think we really believed it until a little while ago," said Swanson.
Swanson's jackpot comes after two Clarksville, Indiana men won a $221 million jackpot earlier in April.
There have been 38 jackpot-winning Powerball tickets sold in Indiana, the most of any state in the U.S.
