Chicago police need help solving murder of teen soccer star

May 3, 2011 (CHICAGO)

Kabiru Adewunmi was shot and killed last week in Chicago's Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.

Police say the 16-year-old was with some friends when they were approached by a group of men who asked if they were Nigerian soccer players. When they said they were, someone in the group of men opened fire.

Police have passed out fliers in the community in hopes of getting leads.

The Amundsen High School sophomore came to Chicago less than a year ago after earning a spot in a teen soccer league.
