Bald eagles return to Mooseheart nest near Batavia

May 4, 2011 (MOOSEHEART, Ill.)

The eagles first built their nest in 2009 and have returned every spring since. Mooseheart's campus is set on 1,000 acres.

South of Batavia, three other bald eagles have been spotted along the Fox River near Montgomery in Kane County this year, according to school officials. Two of them appear to be mature eagles with their distinctive white heads, which appear around the age of 5. The other bald eagle is young.
