What's more effective in treating asthma, pills or inhaler?

At least that's the finding of a study in the New England Journal of Medicine.

Not only were the pills found just as effective but the study also determined that patients taking the pills were more likely to stick to their medication.

Asthma pills are rarely prescribed over an inhaler.

This study found adherence to treatment was "vastly improved" by as much as 60 percent when patients were given once a day asthma pills.
