A teenager who pleaded guilty to attacking a CTA driver with a hammer was given a three-year sentence.

In March 2010, the bus was on Pulaski near 54th Street when the offender tried to board with a dollar student fare. When driver Bill Foster asked for an ID he was assaulted. Foster had to get 12 staples in his scalp.

The offender was originally charged as an adult but was transferred to juvenile court after it was established that he was 16 at the time of the attack.
