Chicago observes Holocaust Remembrance Day

May 5, 2011 (CHICAGO)

Mayor Richard Daley was guest speaker at the event. Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel was there, too.

The event took place at the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center in Skokie.

Daley began the observance in 1990 in memory of the victims and in honor of the survivors of the Holocaust. In his address Daley said citizens must constantly be vigilant against prejudice and intolerance.
