Walter Gonzalez, 18, is charged with a felony count of aggravated battery. Gonzalez was due in bond court Sunday.
Terrance Kirksey, 18, 26-year-old Jabar Azami, 21-year-old Timothy Wade and a 17-year-old are all charged with assault.
Police say the men verbally assaulted the 41-year-old man and 40-year-old woman, who were out for a walk. One suspect reportedly punched the man, causing him to fall.
The man was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston.
