Reyna Simnegar learned how to make Persian foods from her mother-in-law, and then added her own touches.

Simnegar is a Venezuelan woman who fell in love and married a Persian man. Her husband loves his mother's authentic Persian cooking, so Reyna took a crash-course from her mother-in-law, learned how to prepare great Persian meals and added her own contemporary spin on many traditional favorites.

Renya's new cook book "Persian Food from the Non-Persian Bride" features 130 traditional dishes as well as contemporary spins on family favorites such as Stuffed Cornish Hens with Rose Petals, Persian Meat Latkes and Persian Mussaka. The book was published in March of 2011 and is available at for $34.99.
