Chicago police say a man attempting to lure a child in Lincoln Park was stymied when the would-be victim asked him for the ''secret password.''

On April 25 around 8:45 a.m. in the 600 block of W. Kemper Place, police say an 8-year-old girl was approached by a man who asked the girl if she would like to come with him. The child asked for the secret password and when the man did not know it, she ran from him.

The man did not attempt to touch the child.

The possible attacker is described as a white man, 250 lbs., with blond/strawberry hair and a light complexion.
