McDonald's going high-tech in Great Britain

Placing an order at McDonald's in Europe is going high-tech.

The company is replacing cashiers with touch-screen computers and card-swiping systems at 1,200 restaurants in Great Britain.

The goal is to make ordering more efficient. It will also give McDonald's more data so it can track customers ordering habits.

There's no word on plans to introduce the touch-screen ordering systems here in the U.S.
