Authorities released a surveillance photo of the suspect. They say he approached the counter, announced a robbery and threatened the teller last Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the MB Financial Bank inside the Walt's Food Centers store on 183rd Street in Homewood.
Although the man said he had a gun no shots were fired. He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect is described as about 6-feet tall, with a medium build, closely cropped balding hair and a beard. He was wearing glasses, a black suit, white shirt and tie.
Anyone with information on the suspect should call Homewood police or the FBI.
