Fewer Americans are falling behind on credit card payments.

Chicago credit-reporting agency Trans Union says delinquent card payments fell to nearly a 15 year low in the first quarter of this year. That's a drop of almost 10 percent from the previous quarter.

Trans Union says consumers are becoming more careful about carrying debt. Also, lenders have become more cautious about giving credit to new customers.
