A published report has uncovered new details in the death of a model and college student whose car plunged into the north branch of the Chicago River.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, a city source says Irma Sabanovic was videotaped binge drinking before she died.

The 25-year-old was last seen alive May 12 as she left a bar in Rogers Park. A city source said video taken at that bar reportedly shows her drinking seven or eight beers and nine shots of liquor.

Her family's attorney, however, says bartenders say she didn't drink nearly that much, and that the cityis trying to "muddy the waters."

Sabanovic's family is suing the city, saying warning signs and better barricades could have prevented her crash. New barricades and signs have since been installed where the accident happened, at the river and Blackhawk Street.
