Funeral set for opera singer Giorgio Tozzi

The family of Giorgio Tozzi died of a heart attack on Monday in Bloomington. He was 88 years old.

Tozzi was born in Chicago in 1923 and became one of opera's most recognized bass voices, performing in Chicago and around the world.

He won four Grammy awards and later taught voice classes at Indiana University for 15 years.

Tozzi's funeral was scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the Day Funeral Home in Bloomington with a burial to follow in Clear Creek Cemetery.
