Exposing kids to pets early may curb allergies

It found among other things teens born via c-section delivery had a 67 percent decreased risk of dog allergy when they lived with a dog during their first year of life.

Scientists reporting in the journal Clinical and Experimental Allergy say they're not recommending everyone go out and get a dog or cat to prevent allergies but want more research to determine why this appears to be the case.
