Police: Thieves targeting lakefront cars

June 25, 2011 5:26:50 AM PDT
Chicago police are warning city drivers that suspects have been breaking into cars parked along Chicago's lakefront.

Thieves have hit cars between Foster Avenue on the North and Addison on the south, mainly at Montrose Harbor.

The thieves have been stealing any property they can get and have used credit cards immediately then tossed them.

Police warn drivers should lock your vehicles when parking at the lakefront and take only the ID and credit cards needed for that day.
