Chicago cops head to Springfield to testify at parole hearing

June 30, 2011 (CHICAGO)

The officers boarded a chartered bus early Thursday morning at police headquarters.

They were to attend the parole hearing for individuals who were tried and convicted in the attempted murder and aggravated battery of a Chicago police sergeant and police officer in 1970.

Officers say they want to assure that those responsible for the crimes serve their full sentence without parole.
