The former Joliet fire chief was scheduled to be paroled Friday after serving prison time for bilking an elderly woman of more than $200,000.

Joseph Drick and his wife Cheri were each sentenced to eight years behind bars.

Prosecutors said the couple used the money to buy an SUV, pay their mortgage, buy windows for their house and to fund his side business.

The Tribune reports that Joseph Drick would be paroled Friday and that his wife was released in February.
