Lance Cpls. Tyler Longacre and Andrew Pickerill had never met until they deployed together as part of the same battalion headed for Afghanistan. They discovered they had grown up just miles from one another in the western suburbs, and formed a tight friendship through their tour of duty.
Longacre and Pickerill will rest up before heading to Hawaii where they will be stationed. Their entire unit made it through their tour of duty without any casualties.
