Police say the 20-year-old victim was riding in a car that was being chased by another vehicle at approximately 1 a.m. Sunday.
Another car that was not involved in the chase crashed into the victim's car near 87th Street and Stoney Island.
According to police, one man got out of his vehicle, shot the man in the shoulder, then sped away.
The victim was listed in good condition later Sunday morning at Christ Hospital.
So far, no one is in custody.
