NEA endorses Obama for re-election

July 4, 2011 (CHICAGO)

The vote came at the annual meeting of the National Education Association in Chicago. As expected, the vote to endorse the president wasn't close -- 72 percent of the delegates voted in favor of the resolution.

On Sunday, Vice President Joe Biden spoke to the delegates and pushed for the endorsement. It won even though some delegates say they are not happy with Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and his push for charter schools.
