Protesters rally against home-care cuts

July 7, 2011 (CHICAGO)

Protesters rallied at the Thompson Center downtown Wednesday. They say July 1 Illinois home services program made cuts to home care which will limit how many hours of home service people with disabilities can receive each month. Those rallying said that affects up to 30,000 people with disabilities who are currently getting home care.

"My lady has MS. and I have to go with her, she has to have her wheelchair and her walker. She cannot manage that way. I have to go grocery shopping for her. I have to help her with her bags. So these hours that they're talking about cutting is ridiculous," said XXXX
