It happened Thursday night about two miles off shore from the 800-block of North Lake Shore Drive.
The police marine unit used a helicopter to pluck the four from the water after their speed boat hit a break wall and flipped. Officials say they were all wearing life vests.
The father and another man were treated at the scene. The two girls, ages 10 and 12, are in good condition at Children's Memorial Hospital.
