It is an event where people with disabilities, their families, caregivers and healthcare professionals can learn about resources available to them. Among the celebrities you are able to meet at the expo is actor/ producer/ writer Henry Winkler, also known as "The Fonz." Winkler joined us in our ABC7 studio to talk about the Open Arms: Raising Awareness of Upper Limb Spasticity Campaign, for which he is a spokesperson, and which promotes awareness about upper limb spasticity. That is a form of muscle stiffness Winkler's late mother had developed after she suffered a stroke.
Former American Idol contestant Chris Medina will also be at the Abilities Expo. His fiancee, Juliana, was badly injured in an accident and suffered a traumatic brain injury.
