World's Largest Block Party

July 10, 2011

Fr. Tom Hurley, pastor of Old St. Patrick's Church, was in our ABC7 studio to talk about event.

Also, one of the bands that will play at the party, "Out For Hours," gave us a performance.

Funds Generated from the Block Party benefit the artistic enhancement and campus expansion of historic Old St. Patrick's Church and Old St. Patrick's Outreach Group, which include neighborhood, community and global groups that provide programs for the needy.

Old St. Pat's is collecting non-perishable food items at the party for the Greater Chicago Food Depository, which will be distributed to those most in need. The first 100 people each night to bring a food donation will receive a free hot dog from the Old St. Pat's Grill or an extra drink ticket.
