There are multiple rallies scheduled in Chicago, three in Joliet and one in Aurora, as well as in several suburbs, including Waukegan, Skokie, Elgin, Kanakee and St. Charles.
Members of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees will be picketing. It claims the governor's action is unconstitutional and has filed suit.
Governor Quinn says he acted because the legislature hadn't provided money for the raises.
