Anti-Cruelty Society offers tips on pet safety in heat

The oppressive heat can be dangerous for pets.

Here are a few tips on pet safety from the anti-cruelty society.

  • If pets are outside, make sure they have a sheltered area with shade where they can rest.. And have plenty of fresh water available
  • Try to take pets out for their walks during the cooler hours of the day in the morning or evening. And walk. Don't jog
  • Never leave any in pets in cars. Even with the windows down heat builds up and it can be fatal
