Curtis Deloney of the 700-block of E. 43rd St. was pronounced dead at 1 p.m. Monday at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County.
Police say a vehicle was exiting the gas station on the southwest corner of 71st and Halsted. The female driver tried to cut across the southbound lanes to enter northbound Halsted when Deloney's vehicle was traveling northbound. He swerved to avoid the woman's vehicle and struck a light pole. The female driver was cited with failure to yield.
