Dizziness after concussion may mean longer recovery

July 26, 2011

A new study in the American Journal of Sports Medicine suggests dizziness after concussion may mean a longer recovery.

Of 87 players who had dizziness, 34 needed three weeks or more to get the medical OK to return to the sport.

Researchers say more studies are needed to rule out a link between other concussion symptoms and recovery time.

The Illinois governor is expected to sign into law this week concussion legislation that aims to better protect young players suspected of having the head injury.
