Grapes, wine might help protect skin from sunburn

Spanish scientists have found that substances in grapes can protect skin cells from damage caused by ultra-violet rays.

Tiny particles called flavonoids, which exist in grapes and wine, stop the chemical reactions which cause cells to die in cases of sunburn.

Cosmetics companies hope to develop creams or pills which work the same way to provide skin protection.
