The Coast Guard came to the rescue of a swimmer on Chicago's North Shore.

The man was in the water off the beach in Wilmette Wednesday night when large waves trapped him against a break wall.

After Coast Guard crews rescued the man, he was taken to a local hospital to be examined but did not appear to be injured.

Swimmers and boaters were being warned that waves in the area were forecast to be up to three feet high.
