Body of New Lenox man pulled from Lake Mich.

August 12, 2011 (GARY, Ind.) Indiana Conservation Officer Gene Davis says the body of 20-year-old Brett Vanetten of New Lenox, Ill., was found Thursday afternoon in about 7 feet of water near the spot where he last had been seen a day earlier.

The Times of Munster reports Vanetten was presumed drowned after he disappeared while swimming with friends. A riptide warning was in effect at the time, making conditions dangerous for swimming.

Davis said searchers located the body with sonar and divers from the Lake County Aquatics Team recovered the body.
