Honors for those who saved man at 4th of July parade

August 16, 2011 (HINSDALE, Ill.)

Ronald Raidy was part of a civil war reenactment. He had just helped fire a cannon when he collapsed.

As luck would have it, the Hinsdale hospital float was right behind him. The doctors and nurses on board quickly began CPR.

Then a Hinsdale police officer rushed over with a defibrillator and got Raidy's pulse back.

Paramedics took over from there until they could get Raidy to the hospital.
