Time Out Chicago's Features Editor, Laura Baginski and former Q101 DJ, James VanOsdol joined us in studio to discuss Chicago's Alternative Rock music scene and the end of Chicago's Alt Rock Station, Q101, this past July.
James is currently working on a book about Q101's history titled "Smells Like Rock Radio: an Oral History of Chicago's Q101 (1992 -2011). He's compiling interviews and stories from those in the Chicago community that worked on Q101, influenced it's evolution, and in turn, were influenced by it. It's slated for release in 2012 and will keep the memories of this ground breaking station alive for years to come.
