Charges dropped in shooting of 2 cops

Two Chicago police officers were wounded in a shooting after witnessing an alleged drug transaction on the city's West Side. One took a bullet to his head, the other to his arm.

Jones, 27, was charged just a few days later. Charges agAinst Jones were brought "in good faith based on witness accounts and identifications," according to a statement from the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, but further investigation led to the dismissal of those charges on Tuesday.

The case remains open and the investigation is ongoing.
