Aging mobster gets 35 years in Berwyn bombing

August 17, 2011 (CHICAGO)

Eighty-seven-year-old Sam Volpendesto and four others were recently convicted in the 2003 bombing of a video-gaming company in suburban Berwyn.

Prosecutors say the company was targeted because it was cutting into the outfit's illegal gaming profits.

The sentence was the maximum allowed under the law.

The other four defendants, including Michael "Large Guy" Sarno, will be sentenced later.
