Chicago Air & Water Show (August 20- 21)
Location: North Avenue Beach, Chicago

Details: This is why Chicago is such an amazing city, events like the Chicago Air & Water show that are free to the public and a Chicago Summer staple. There will be several performers on each day, so make sure you are there early to see your favorites perform daredevil air and water stunts.

Air & Water Show Yacht Party (August 21)

Adler After Dark (every 3rd Thursday of the Month)
Location: Adler Planetarium 1300 S. Lake Shore Drive
Time: 6-10pm

Details: Guests can come and enjoy food and cocktails while viewing Chicago's great skyline and some spectacular views of space at the same time. Thursdays with Adler After Dark is the only time the public is allowed to look through the Doane Observatory telescope. The Telescope is the largest telescope in the Midwest and provides an excellent view of Jupiter's great red spot and Saturn's rings. DJ ShAde will be on the tables ? this event is 21+.

Planet Explorers

Details: Planet Explorers is the most immersive, hands-on exhibition ever created for families at Adler. Kids have the chance to become space explorers and embark on an adventure through the Universe to the mysterious Planet X. Chicago Dancing Festival (August 22-August 27)

Details: Chicago Dancing Festival was founded by internationally renowned choreographer and Chicago native Lar Lubovitch and the amazing Chicago dancer, Jay Franke. Lubovitch and Franke founded this organization to heighten awareness of dance in Chicago, increase accessibility to the art form and provide aspiration for local artists.

Society for Urban Nature's Helios Bash (August 19th)
Location: Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum- 2430 N Cannon Drive

Details: The Helios Bash is the Society for Urban Nature's (SUN) largest fundraiser, with all proceeds going to the Nature Museum's Teenagers Exploring & Explaining Nature & Science (TEENS) program. With TEENS, high school students are given the opportunity to learn about environmental issues through hands-on experience. This event is an eco-friendly one, vendors were selected for their creative and vibrant commitment to environmental responsibility. Calihan Catering will feature local, sustainable, and delicious cuisine while Pollen will provide eco-friendly decor. A ticket gives you access to an open bar with wine, Goose Island Green Line beer, and vodka, then enjoy tunes by Toast & Jam DJs. Dance for Life (August 20)

Details: Dance For Life is a benefit gala created to raise money for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago and the Dance For Life Fund. Look out for performances from Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, The Joffrey Ballet, River North Chicago Dance Company, Ron De Jesus Dance, as well as two new World Premiers. This event will be hosted by Entertainment Critic and Reporter Dean Richards of WGN.

What If?An International Art Show (August 20)

Hitz Boxing Fight Night
