1 charged after man helps cop being attacked

A man out walking a dog came to the aid of a Chicago police officer who was being attacked.

The officer reportedly was trying to make an arrest after seeing someone breaking into a car in the 4200-block of North Ravenswood, near Mayor Rahm Emanuel's home.

The witness saw two people fighting and called 911.

Anthony Perez, 45, is charged with battery, resisting arrest and attempting to disarm a police officer.
