Heavy rains blamed for suburban fish die-off

The Arlington Heights Park District is trying to figure out why hundreds of fish have died in the village.

Six-hundred dead gizzard shad have been pulled from Lake Arlington, but the district assures residents that the lake is safe, as is village drinking water.

Fishing is still being allowed in the man-made lake.

The district says heavy rains might have caused the die-off.
