Fathers take children to school

September 6, 2011 (CHICAGO)

The march started eight years ago in more than 750 cities in an effort to get fathers involved in taking their children to the first day of school. The Chicago event is led by the Chicago Black Star Project.

Research has shown children whose fathers take an active role in their education perform better academically are more likely to graduate from high school and attend college.
