Esmerelda Lopez, 13, lives with her father in the 3100-block of South Oak Park Avenue. Her parents say their daughter was on her way to Heritage Middle School Friday morning, a block from home, but she never made it. They say she sent a text message to her older sister about a strange man following her.
Her family hasn't heard from Lopez since 7:30 Friday morning and they say her cell phone is now off.
Anyone who may have seen the girl is asked to call Berwyn police.
