WCL: Get creative in the Kitchen with Pears

Erika Bishop from DonateFruit.com stopped by our kitchen today to show us how to cook with this season's surplus of pears. There's a lot more to do with pears than baking fruit tarts! You can find ways to use them in savory dishes too! For example, instead of a BLT sandwich, try a BCP sandwich. (See the recipe below.)

GRILLED BCP (Bacon Cheese & Pear) SANDWICH:

- Sliced, ripe Pear
- Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 4 slices cooked Bacon
- 2 slices of your favorite bread

PREP: Make a sandwich, layering the cheese, bacon, & pears on your bread. Then use a Panini press to toast the bread and melt the cheese or if you don't have a Panini press grill the sandwich on your stove top the way you would for a grilled cheese until toasted and warm. Enjoy!
