Driver hits gas instead of brakes, crashes into bank

September 16, 2011 (ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill.)

Two employees at the Harris Bank, 1951 Plum Grove Road, were taken to a nearby hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The driver, a 68-year-old from Palatine, was trapped in her Jeep Cherokee. She was not hurt.

Officials say the woman's foot slipped from the brake pedal to the gas. Apparently she had some sort of oil on the bottom of her shoe. She was not cited in the crash.

No customers were hurt, but it's not clear when the bank will reopen.
