Police in Evanston are investigating after a Northwestern University student was attacked near campus.

It happened about 12:15 a.m. Sunday on Orrington Avenue at Simpson Street, which is lined with million-dollar homes.

Police said two men approached the student, and one pulled out a gun and demanded his wallet. When the student said he didn't have a wallet, one of the men reportedly hit him in the head with the gun. Both suspects then fled.
