Strawberry-Banana Smoothie

The Pampered Chef's compactManual Food Processor is great for salsas and sauces, as well as dressings and sauces, cocktails and desserts. It's easier than a bulky food processor and is dishwasher-safe. Kids can even help make their own smoothie.

Chef's Tips: This recipe provides a great framework for any flavor smoothie. Try substituting frozen raspberries and mangoes or blueberries for the strawberries.

  • 1 cup (250 mL) frozen unsweetened strawberries
  • 1 medium banana, halved
  • 3/4 cup (175 mL) milk
  • 1/3 cup (75 mL) vanilla-flavored yogurt
  • Place strawberries in Prep Bowl. Microwave on HIGH 15-20 seconds or until slightly thawed.

    Combine strawberries, banana, milk and yogurt in Manual Food Processor; cover and pump handle until smooth.

    Yield: 2 servings (about 2 cups/500 mL)

    Nutrients per serving (about 1 cup/250 mL): Calories 170, Total Fat 3 g, Saturated Fat 1.5 g, Cholesterol 10 mg, Sodium 70 mg, Carbohydrate 33 g, Fiber 3 g, Protein 6 g.
